“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away” (author unknown)
The majority of my career has been spent in the corporate world working for large software vendors. This has provided me with the opportunity to experience many cultures across the globe and afforded me with a comfortable home.
In the year 2010, one of my new year resolutions was to live a simpler existence. Life in the fast was making me feel empty and exhausted.
I started volunteering at a local community shelter which assisted the homeless and less privileged through providing basic services such as showers and clothing. Volunteering was an eye opener for me and a very humbling experience. It taught me that you don’t need a lot of things to survive. So many people have to go without.
At the beginning of 2013 I took my first pottery wheel throwing lesson and I have been addicted since. Learning the art of ceramics has taught me many things: how to slow down, the beauty of making things from scratch, the love that is put into the process, and it also teaches you how to be resourceful. It has also been very refreshing to meet and collaborate with people outside of my corporate world.
Each experience is a learning one for me.
Now my worlds are intertwining, applying what I know in the digital space to help those with a small business or in the creative industry. My motto is still the same: keep things simple, follow good design principles, and be genuine in everything you do.
Thank you for all your support!
